Exchange service

RECRO reconditioned products are usually sold on an exchange basis. When we sell a new transmission system, valve body or torque converter on an exchange basis the old unit must be returned. To aid this process, RECRO has developed a fast, effective and efficient exchange system.

The exchange system is essential to a remanufacturer – the old transmission called “core” is the raw material of our trade. The “core” is of great value, not only in financial terms but also for our production needs. If we need to find new core to inject into our system, it slows down production, resulting in lost sales and profits.

Our simple return policy

The old unit must be like for like, complete and free of external cracks and damage to ensure full return of deposit If your old transmission system does not comply with these conditions, simply tell us when you order.  An old unit or ‘core’ transmission is always worth something to us. Even a transmission system damaged beyond repair can still be worth a 50% reduction on the purchase price

This is what you do:

• place your old unit in the pallet provided and repack it in exactly the same way as your new product. Disassembled units are not acceptable
• drain off the oil remembering to replace the drain plugs. Your new product may have had plastic caps fitted to prevent contamination; these should be transferred to the old unit before collection
• ring your supplier to arrange collection or email us, quoting the RECRO ID or invoice number and we will collect
• Remember - old units should be returned within 1 months from the date of purchase.

Logistics

RECRO has become an expert in the logistics of returning core. As a result we can keep a minimum stock and respond flexibly to our customer demands.

RECRO has close ties with a number of transport companies throughout the EU. In general we can deliver throughout the Baltics within 24 to 48 hours from one central point. Deliveries to other European countries takes 3 to 5 days.

RECRO is always happy to handle the returned core on your behalf.
